56496 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: How many plants, broken down by species or type, have been hired by each entity for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, and what were the suppliers and locations for each installation, broken down by month?
Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that, since 27 November 2023, the Department of Conservation has engaged two suppliers for plant-hire services (including in one case also an outdoor garden service component), Just Plants (Conservation House, Wellington) and The Tree Company Limited (Regional office, Hamilton).
The Department does not maintain records of the botanical species or types of plants hired under its plant-hire arrangements.
However, some details are available from invoice descriptions provided by one supplier, Just Plants. Services include: 55 floor-stand plants; one trough; 18 grasses; two table-top plants; and an outdoor garden service component.
