56369 (2024). Kahurangi Carter to the Minister for Children: Further to reply 48232, why is Oranga Tamariki unable to provide this percentage, and can they provide a number value instead?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki they are not able to provide the number of service providers who contracts ended on 31 July 2024. Oranga Tamariki records which providers have been informed about their contract status, but they do not record when they were updated. To provide the information requested would require significant work and a manual collation exercise. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 199-3, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering this question in the timeframe allowed for written parliamentary questions, is not in the public interest.
