Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Food Safety: Why does the proposed draft of the Animal Products Notice: Specified Meat for Export with Official Assurance 2025 eliminate the requirement for the Rover position after 12 months, reinstating it only if inaccuracies or concerns are identified?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Ministry for Primary Industries has advised the rover position was initially put in place to meet export market expectations at that time. The proposed changes to the rover position are in-line with current export market expectations.
