56223 (2024). Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Conservation: How many Threatened species if any, were managed at less than 50% of the sites where they occur in the year ended 30 June 2024; listed by species, including their common and Māori name?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that direct management was funded for 157 threated species for the year ending 30 June 2024. Several threatened species were managed through other activities such as predator and wild animal control. The Department are currently unable to tell which species were managed at less than 50% of the sites where they occur and is currently implementing an improved Biodiversity Planning Approach to enable the collection of this information.
