56214 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality: What is the total cost, if any, of settlement agreements in each of the entities for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by month?

Hon Louise Upston: As Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. With regard to Crown entities under the Tourism and Hospitality portfolio, I am advised that the total cost of settlement agreements at Tourism New Zealand in that time period was $58,158 with one settlement in July 2025 of $45,158, and one in April 2025 for $13,000. I am advised that the total cost of settlement agreements at Qualmark New Zealand (a subsidiary of Tourism New Zealand) was $$4,000, with one payment made in December 2024.
