56182 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many frontline roles, if any, are not filled at Corrections, as of 31 August 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections’ recruitment campaign is ongoing and I have been assured that hiring and training frontline staff, who manage approximately 9,800 people in prison and 26,000 people in the community, remains a top priority for Corrections. I am further advised that as at 31 August 2024, from a total of 10,349.81 FTE frontline roles, 748.72 FTE are unfilled. This is also my response to WPQ 56183 (2024).
