56173 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: How many people, if any, have been made redundant – voluntary or otherwise – at each of the entities for which the minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by month?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was a departmental agency hosted by DPMC to 24 September 2025. My response includes NEMA information to 24 September 2025. I advise that 15 DPMC staff members were made redundant from 27 November 2023 to 1 December 2025. Due to privacy reasons details of the redundancies including associated costs cannot be disclosed. DPMC payment amounts are consistent with contractual obligations.
