56111 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: What role(s), if any, within Oranga Tamariki approves caregiver placements, as of 31 August 2024?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that a Caregiver Recruitment and Support Supervisor approves all full caregiver assessments unless there is child protection history and police convictions. Where there are child protection histories and police convictions these cases require a special consideration process to be followed which has various delegation levels.
