56001 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: How many people, if any, have been made redundant – voluntary or otherwise – at each of the entities for which the minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by month?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that a total of 58 people were made redundant at the New Zealand Customs Service between 27 November 2023 and 8 December 2025. The total cost of redundancies was $4,810,927.76. I refer the Member to the attached appendix which show the number of staff whose roles were made redundant during this period and the cost, broken down by month and by whether the redundancy was voluntary or classified as ‘other’.
