Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: For what reasons, if any, have Non-Disclosure Agreements been used in each of the entities for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by category of issue (such as conduct, grievances, employment disputes, whistleblowing, or other)?

Hon Casey Costello: I have been advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) does not keep centralised records of non-disclosure agreements signed by individual staff members, and searching across the agency for such records is not a good use of officials’ time. Customs officials, from time to time, may sign a non-disclosure agreement on behalf of Customs for commercial or procurement purposes.
