55989 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Corrections: How many people, if any, have been made redundant – voluntary or otherwise – at each of the entities for which the minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by month?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections considers a person to be made redundant if a staff member’s employment is ultimately terminated and they are paid severance, following the disestablishment of their position. I am further advised that redundancy only occurs where there is no suitable reassignment or redeployment opportunity for the affected staff member within Corrections. I am further advised that since 27 November 2023, eleven people at Corrections have been made redundant, with four of these being voluntary. I am also advised that due to the low number of staff who have been made redundant during this timeframe, Corrections are unable to provide a breakdown by month without breaching the privacy of those individuals involved. I am not prepared for this to occur to in order to respond to this part of the request.
