55924 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Further to his answer to written question 51707 (2024): what has changed within Health New Zealand since 26 July 2024, that answer could be provided to written question 44698 but not 51707 (2024)?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I have been advised that Health New Zealand is an organisation with over 80,000 employees. I am advised that providing the Member with this information would require Health New Zealand to undertake a substantial manual collation exercise and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210-6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest. This would require an estimated 60 working hours.
