55909 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What measures, if any, does Te Whatu Ora have to assess progress against it's goal to significantly reduce attrition out of nursing training programmes to 20%?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand does not have a target of a 20% reduction in attrition out of nursing training programmes. I am further advised that Health NZ aims to reduce attrition by investing in student scholarships and by working with tertiary providers on models of delivery and placement experience that will improve retention rates.
