55601 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Immigration: Further to WPQs 51902, 51900, 51904, 51903, 51899, 51905, 51907, 51901, and 51897 (2024), when the new immigration fees come into force on 1 October 2024, what proportion of the levy (either in respect of the individual visa types or globally) "funds a broad range of activities including maintenance costs of the immigration system, managing immigration risk and compliance, the attraction of migrants and supporting migrant settlement" and how much is for "the benefits that users of the system receive or the risks they create"?
Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the member to the attached document for a table showing the allocation of Immigration Levy funding for the Vote Labour Market Immigration Services Multicategory Appropriation. This breakdown shows the levy proportion for activities by Immigration New Zealand and other departments who deliver immigration services.
