55520 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Why did the Minister decide not to comment on the National Green Steel Limited Fast Track application?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I have not provided comment on the National Green Steel Limited Fast-track application. There is no expectation or obligation for the Minister for the Environment to comment on all applications. Projects need to get approval from an expert panel, which assess the environmental impacts of projects based on local and national planning rules and can set conditions to manage any negative environmental effects for approved projects.
