55481 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: How many schools and ELS, if any, have engage a Class A licensed asbestos removal contractor as a result of coloured sand contamination?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry that schools and early learning services (ELS) are not required to inform the Ministry whether they have engaged a Class A licensed asbestos removal contractor as a result of coloured sand contamination. However, 177 Schools and 14 ELS have voluntarily informed the Ministry that they have engaged a licensed asbestos assessor. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 55484 (2025).
