55474 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Police

55474 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Police: What baseline data exists (and will be published) on financial flows of organised crime (e.g., money-laundering cases, asset forfeitures, illicit trade volumes) in New Zealand if any?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police publishes financial data of this nature in their Annual Report, which is publicly available. Pages 18 and 19 of the NZ Police 2024/25 Annual Report provide information on the dollar values of asset restraints, the number of money laundering cases/prosecutions, and organised crime disruption value(s).
The Annual Report can be found here: https://www.police.govt.nz/sites/default/files/publications/annual-report-2024-2025.pdf
In addition, the quarterly Wastewater Drug Testing reports, published on the Police website, include an average weekly social harm estimate in dollar value based on the measured illicit drug consumption. I am further advised that Police does not hold information on illicit trade volumes.
