55321 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Has the Minister or any official they are responsible for been contacted by US officials about collecting data on crimes and human rights abuses committed by migrants as part of its global drive to combat mass migration and if so with who and by what date?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: I am advised that during a meeting on the afternoon of 1 December 2025, United States Embassy officials drew to the attention of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade officials, the US Administration's perspectives on the impacts of migration on society including on human rights. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade officials have drawn the attention of United States Embassy officials to the Prime Minister's recent comments on this issue.
