55292 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: Further to her reply to Question 52318 (2025), does WorkSafe follow up with Road Controlling Authorities if they do not respond to WorkSafe monthly surveys regarding outputs and impacts of the road cone hotline and if not, why not?
Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by WorkSafe New Zealand that its monthly impact surveys to Road Controlling Authorities (RCAs) are voluntary, and it is not compulsory to respond. If WorkSafe has not received a response from an RCA, a reminder is sent. Strengthened engagement with RCAs as part of the road cone hotline pilot process has resulted in consistently high monthly survey response rates.
