55258 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Further to WPQ 50002 Is the Minister aware of the Amnesty International Report on climate displacement 'Navigating Injustice' and if so does he agree that New Zealand should 'Establish rights-based visas targeting people impacted by climate change and disasters, prioritizing admission for those who are unable to meet the Pacific Access Category and Samoan Quota requirements' and if so why and if not why not?
Rt Hon Winston Peters: In my capacity as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, I have not received any advice from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade regarding the Amnesty International Report on climate displacement 'Navigating Injustice'.
Immigration and visa matters are the responsibility of the Minister of Immigration.
