55229 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Transport: What is the forecast completion date for SH22 Drury Upgrade, and how has that changed since its inclusion in the Government’s 20 July 2025 Beehive press release titled “Infrastructure projects to drive jobs and growth”, as at 24 November 2025?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that SH22 Drury upgrade interim works (at the SH22/Jesmond Road intersection) that was included in the Beehive Press Release of 20 July 2025 is scheduled for completion mid-2026, noting that contract award is expected shortly. The wider scope of the full SH22 Drury upgrade will be considered for construction funding in due course. Pending confirming of funding, NZTA have assumed a start date of early 2027, and completion would be anticipated in late 2029.
