55179 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Health: How many people have been employed directly or indirectly on Maternity Ward and Neonatal Unit Upgrade, as at 24 November 2025?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand estimates up to five employees are providing support to the Maternity Ward and Neonatal Unit Upgrade project. These employees work across multiple projects and are not dedicated full time to the one project. I am further advised that Health NZ cannot accurately quantify direct job creation due to the complexity of supply chains and factors outside its control.
