55149 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What was the total amount of deferred maintenance for Fire and Emergency New Zealand property in 2024/25?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by Fire and Emergency New Zealand that its Asset Management Plans outline a minimum level of planned and preventative maintenance, renewals, and upgrades necessary to avoid deterioration, mitigate risk, and ensure continuity of service delivery. In 2024/25 Fire and Emergency deferred around $8.77 million in planned and preventative maintenance, and around $15.96 million in capital renewals. This resulted in an estimated total deferred maintenance of $24.43 million for the property portfolio in 2024/25.
