Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Does Fire and Emergency New Zealand still estimate a total investment of $2.9 billion over twenty years is required to lift their assets to a base standard by addressing deferred maintenance, as set out in their 2020 Strategic Asset Management Plan?
Hon Brooke van Velden: Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s 2025/26 Statement of Performance Expectations notes that a 2022 assessment estimated its capital investment needs at least $3.1 billion over the next 20 years.
