55044 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister believe that Australian consumers enjoy greater scam protections compared to New Zealand consumers, and if so, what actions has he taken to address this disparity?

Hon Scott Simpson: Australia has introduced comprehensive legislative tools. In New Zealand, the Anti-Scam Alliance has a comprehensive work program that will ensure that New Zealand is an unattractive place for scammers to operate. Part of this work plan includes the recently announced safe harbour protections.
