54870 (2024). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Prime Minister: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office received during the week beginning 26 August 2024, listed by agency, title and date received?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Prime Minister, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on a range of matters. I received the following documents for the Prime Minister portfolio from my officials in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) between 26-30 August 2024:
• Government Targets Cabinet Consideration and Public Release briefing, 30 August 2024
• Draft Annual Report 2023/24: For Comment, 30 August 2024
• Foreign Honour for New Zealand citizen, 30 August 2024
• Foreign Honour for New Zealand citizen, 30 August 2024
• Transfer of responsibility – Fast-track Approvals Bill – projects for inclusion in schedule, 30 August 2024
• Prime Minister’s weekly brief, 30 August 2024
In my capacity as the Prime Minister and the Minister for National security and Intelligence I also received two documents on 30 August 2024. It is not in the public interest to release the titles of these documents.
In my capacity as the Prime Minister, jointly with the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery I received the following document between 26-30 August 2024: North Island Weather Events: Monthly Progress Update on Categorisation, Buyouts, Infrastructure and Local Transport Project, 29 August 2024.
I have also received briefings from the Policy Advisory Group, a business unit of DPMC, during the requested timeframe, however, I am not releasing the titles of these briefings.
In addition, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from my officials in DPMC and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices. This information is not held in a format that can be easily extracted within the time frame.
