54696 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: Was the Waitaki District Council consulted on the fee that it was to pay the Crown facilitator he appointed and if not, why not?

Hon Simon Watts: I provided Waitaki District Council with written notice of my intention to appoint a Crown facilitator, including the reasons for the appointment, the proposed terms of reference and the remuneration, in accordance with section 32 of the Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Act 2024. The Council had 10 working days to provide feedback on the proposed appointment.
