54612 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service: What steps did the Minister or her office take to verify the information she relied upon when giving oral answers in the House about what she knew of the Public Service Commission’s communications approach to the 23 October 2025 industrial action prior to her later personal explanation correcting those answers?
Hon Judith Collins: In preparation for the oral questions, my office undertook a search of emails about the social media advertisements and sought advice from PSC Officials. As per my later personal explanation, it was not until the evening of 13 November 2025 that my Office discovered that it had been informed on 17 October 2025, that communications would include paid social media. Earlier information from the Public Service Commission had not advised that it would be paid and the subsequent addition of the word "paid" to the A3 was not noticed by my Office. Senior Officials from the PSC involved in the oral question preparation were also unaware that the office had been informed.
