54553 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What modelling has he seen, if any, regarding an increased prison population and the impact to Corrections resources, during the month of October?

Hon Mark Mitchell: In the month of October, I received a copy of the 2024/25 draft annual report, which includes broad information demonstrating how Corrections is responding to an increasing prison population, while focusing on staff recruitment, ensuring sufficient infrastructure and service delivery. Corrections’ 2024/25 annual report was presented to the House of Representatives on 16 October 2025, and published on Corrections website the same day.
