54526 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service: On what exact date and time did the Public Service Commission provide the Minister or her office with copies of the social media tiles used in its paid advertising about the 23 October 2025 industrial action, and were any of those tiles identified at that time as being part of paid placement?
Hon Judith Collins: My office was provided with copies of the social media tiles on Friday 17 October 2025 at 12.35pm and Monday 20 October 2025 at 5.48pm. The tiles provided on Friday 17 October were not identified as being part of a paid placement. My office became aware that the social media posts involved paid promotion after the first ads were published. As per my later personal explanation, it was not until the evening of 13 November 2025 that my staff discovered that they had in fact been informed on 17 October 2025 via an update to an A3 attachment in an email, that communications would include paid social media. Earlier information from the Public Service Commission had not advised that it would be paid and the subsequent addition of the word "paid" to the A3 attachment was not identified by my Office.
