54497 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter to grow the domestic training of allied scientific and technical health workers?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, funding was made available to support primary and community care providers to attract, develop, and retain health practitioners. This funding is for postgraduate study courses that support skills development in primary care settings. I am also advised that tertiary education providers have been contracted to deliver postgraduate papers subject to enrolments.
