54488 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter to extend opportunities for rangatahi and Tauira Maori to have paid work experience in the health system?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, there were extended opportunities for rangatahi and tauira Māori to have paid work experience opportunities within their own rohe with primary and community hauora Māori partners. This included funding 420 rangatahi and tauira Māori into internships with Hauora Māori partners on into internships of between 8-12 weeks with Te Rau Ora we.
