54474 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter to develop a framework for earn-as-you-learn and accelerated midwifery pathways, including links to midwifery assistant roles?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand commenced the Kai Amo Pokai program in Hawke's Bay through the Kaiāwhina Cadet Programme. I am further advised that funding has also been secured for Kai Amo Pokai training and development in Auckland and the Nelson Marlborough Districts. I also refer the Member to Written Parliamentary Question 54475 (2024).
