Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Did the Minister or his office ask for, or receive, any legal or policy advice on the "legal protections" that New Zealand banks currently have in relation to protecting consumers from online scams, and if so, what was the title and date of this advice?

Hon Scott Simpson: I regularly request and receive advice on a range of topics. In the interest of transparency, a list of briefings and reports received by my office from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is regularly published on MBIE's website (https://www.mbie.govt.nz/about/open-government-and-official-information/release-of-information/lists-of-ministerial-documents-by-portfolio/commerce-and-consumer-affairs).
