Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that third party donations enable additional predator control work to be completed beyond the baseline annual programme. The Department of Conservation advises that donations will be used to: • Hire additional field staff to increase predator control intensity. • Extend ground-based predator control infrastructure, such as tracks, and hardware, such as traps, to increase buffers around nesting habitat and increase trap density. • Undertake Pukunui survey, banding, and health checks at more remote sites. • Increase predator control result monitoring to inform adaptive management.
