54444 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister believe that Kmart should take responsibility for testing, and if need be, cleaning costs, associated with the recall of their children's consumer sand products?

Hon Scott Simpson: There is provision under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 for consumers who purchased the product for personal, domestic or household use to claim compensation for any additional loss or damage from an unsafe product. This may include the costs for testing, clean up and disposal where required.
