Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: What, if anything, is his response to the Christchurch dad who said, with regard to the recalled sand consumer product, “How did we allow something that’s going to be played with by thousands of children to get contaminated with asbestos?”

Hon Scott Simpson: Product safety is the responsibility of suppliers. Businesses that operate in New Zealand should know the law and their obligations within it.
