Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many of the Chief Financial Officers, or equivalent senior financial officers, in the departments, Crown entities, or other agencies for which the Minister is responsible, if any, currently hold each of the following professional accounting qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia); Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); and any other professional accounting qualification (please specify), and how many hold no such qualification, broken down by agency and each qualification category?
Hon Brooke van Velden: Department of Internal Affairs:
I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that it currently has one position of Chief Financial Officer, or equivalent senior financial officers. The Chief Financial Officer currently holds the professional accounting qualification of Fellow Chartered Accountants with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand:
Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s Deputy Chief Executive Corporate Services is the organisation’s most senior financial officer and holds the responsibilities of a Chief Financial Officer. He is a Chartered Accountant.
Classification Office:
The Classification Office Chief Financial Officer does not hold any such qualification. The Office has a supply agreement in place with KPMG to provide expert financial support and advice.
Lotto New Zealand:
Lotto New Zealand’s Chief Financial Officer is a CAANZ qualified Chartered Accountant.
