54371 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: How, if at all, were the age groups of the new Healthy School Lunches programme sample recipes determined?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the sample recipes included in the Registration of Interest documentation for the new Ka Ora Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches programme were developed to broadly meet the requirements for the Year 9 and above age group. All recipes were developed to broadly meet the requirements for Years 9 and above. Some of them included modifications or yield variances for the other age groups (Years 0-3 and Years 4 – 8). The main difference between the three age groups is portion size. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 54372 (2024).
