54318 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to Written Parliamentary Question 50579 (2024), how, if at all, for the purpose of purchasing services, will Oranga Tamariki define "need"?

Hon Karen Chhour: In the context of Written Parliamentary Question 50579 (2024), the children and young people being referred to in terms of ‘need’ relates specifically to children and young people in care. I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the needs of children and young people in care is based on social worker assessments, which is then reflected in individual care plans.
