54239 (2024). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: What is the total emissions reduction, if any, from the 28 sites selected to receive funding from the community renewable energy fund?

Hon Simeon Brown: Of the 28 community resilience sites announced to receive funding under the Community Renewable Energy Fund, three have to date completed the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery systems with the remainder set to install the systems over the coming months. The Fund’s investment in solar PV and battery systems for these buildings will provide communities with secure renewable energy for emergency events, such as natural disasters or severe weather events, and for day-to-day use lowering power bills. Across all the funded sites there will be an average of 19kW solar PV and 30kWh battery installed delivery benefit in peace times to the community buildings selected. MBIE has not done any modelling or estimates on emission reductions of these sites.
