54225 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: How many times, since taking office, if any, has the Minister met with the Labour spokesperson for education?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have met in person with the member in my office on one occasion along with our two staff members. I have had two phone conversations with the member ahead of government announcements. When NCEA work starts to progress I expect engagement with my office and with my officials to increase. We have offered the Member a “regular cadence” of meetings and I have asked the Ministry of Education officials on two occasions to brief the Member on curriculum work, should she wish it. I would note that despite this offer the Member has not asked for a single meeting or briefing.
