Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What measures will he take, if any, to ensure that any part of the Health New Zealand workforce that is subject to workforce shortages will not have those shortages exacerbated by the decision to offer voluntary redundancies to Health New Zealand staff?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: Decisions about voluntary redundancies are operational matters for Health New Zealand. However, I am advised that only certain management and administrative workforces are eligible to apply for voluntary redundancy at this stage, and applications will not necessarily be accepted.
