54159 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Attorney-General: How much has been budgeted, if any, for renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minsiter's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2025-26 financial year?
Hon Judith Collins: The Solicitor-General is appointed by the Governor-General on advice from the Attorney-General. The total remuneration budgeted for Crown appointees in 2025-26 by Crown Law is $676,000. The Chief Parliamentary Counsel is appointed by the Governor-General on advice from the Attorney-General. In addition, the Attorney-General nominates a retired High Court Judge to certify revision bills drafted by the Parliamentary Counsel Office under the Legislation Act 2019. The total remuneration budgeted for Crown appointees in 2025-26 by the Parliamentary Counsel Office is $429,000.
