54144 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police: What changes to levy rates, if any, have been made in the Minister's department, if any, since November 2023?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police does not charge levies on the goods and services provided to general public, however they do charge a fee for certain services. Therefore, no levy rates are set by Police. However, Police does collect Ministry of Transport levy from Local Authorities in New Zealand on behalf of the Crown, but the rates are not set by Police, as Police’s role has been purely that of a banking mechanism by the local authority in this process.
