Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How much has been budgeted, if any, for renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minsiter's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2025-26 financial year?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the budgeted total remuneration for 2025/26 for Crown appointees to Crown entity boards and other statutory bodies is $786,900. The total remuneration covers the Children’s Commissioner, Independent Children’s Monitor, New Zealand Artificial Limb Service, Social Workers Registration Board, Social Workers Disciplinary Tribunal, and the South Auckland Social Wellbeing Board. It does not cover the Social Security Appeal Authority and Student Allowance Appeal Authority, which are administered by the Ministry of Justice.
