54070 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How much in total, if any, was spent on renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2024-25 financial year?

Hon Brooke van Velden: A detailed list is attached which outlines total renumeration, in the 2024/25 financial year, of Crown appointees for those Crown entities monitored by the Department of Internal Affairs. I am also responsible for the Lotteries Commission which is administered by the Treasury. Treasury have advised me Board member remuneration (total and by director) for each operationally independent Crown Company or entity is disclosed in its Annual Report to comply with NZ reporting requirements. This information is publicly available from each entity's published annual report. The Treasury does not consolidate entity performance information by Minister portfolio. I am advised that providing the Member with this information would require the Treasury to undertake a substantial collation exercise. As such I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
