54016 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for the Environment: How much has been budgeted, if any, for renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minsiter's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2025-26 financial year?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Ministry for the Environment budgeted $141,400 for renumeration of Crown appointees in the 2025-26 financial year. The Environmental Protection Authority budgeted $545,025 for remuneration of Crown appointees in the 2025-26 financial year. Payment of the panel conveners is funded by the Fast-track levy, not EPA baseline funding. The EPA pays for the Te Awamutu Board of Inquiry members and cost recovers it from the applicant.
