54007 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for the Environment: How much in total, if any, was spent on renumeration of Crown appointees in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2024-25 financial year?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Ministry for the Environment spent $84,259 on remuneration of Crown appointees in the 2024-25 financial year. The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) spent $880,329 on remuneration of Crown appointees in the 2024-25 financial year. Payment of the panel conveners is funded by the Fast-track levy, not EPA baseline funding. The EPA pays for the Te Awamutu Board of Inquiry members and cost recovers it from the applicant.
