53979 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What options for expanding clinical or preventative health services delivered by community pharmacies are currently being considered by Health New Zealand, if any?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand, through the Integrated Community Pharmacy Services Agreement's annual review process, has proposed a Clinical Services Expansion Fund to support delivery of community pharmacy services that would otherwise require a consultation with a GP or other clinical service provider. The specific services will be confirmed with a sector advisory group but are expected to include services such as minor skin infections.
I am further advised the fund will include an initial investment of $5m in FY25/26.
